Bengal had never bowed down to the semi-fascist terror of the 70s, and would never do such for the current reign of terror. No extent of physical and legal attack would suffice to stop the poor and distressed people from upholding the flag of protest in their battle of bread and butter said the CPI (M) Polit Bureau member Brinda Karat emphatically while addressing a huge gathering at the Sidhu Kanhu Dahar at Panagarh Bazar on 12th July, 2013.
The Kanksa Zonal Committee of the CPI (M) had called upon for the mass rally this day. Huge number of supporters and common people from the localities of Jangalmahal, Kanksa came and joined this meet along with innumerable gatherings from Bankathi, Bidbihar, Trilokchandrapore, Amlazora, Gopalpore and Malandighi gram panchayats. The gathering of Sidhu Kanhu Dahar flooded even up to the flanks of the National Highway. The presence of female supporters and youth were in large number. On pointing out the issue of huge female participation on this gathering Brinda Karat told that the mothers and sisters of Bengal has now come over to take on the streets, in the 70s the women of Bengal had played a very important role in awakening the common people of this state to protest and now they are awakening again. Nobody would be able to stop the prospect of the Red flag said the leader.
